Sacramento Set As Debut City For New Professional Football Team

Sacramento is getting a professional football team this fall but, it's not an NFL team. It'll be part of a new league called Major League Football, which starts in October. The Sacramento team will play at Cal Expo's Heart Health Park, the home of Sacramento Republic Football Club. Few details about the league have been released but, the MLF promises fewer penalties than the NFL to keep the pace of the game flowing according to Adam Mclean who is commissioner of the MLF. The league also promises more affordable ticket prices and concessions compared to NFL games. Mclean equates the MLF to the USL league when compared to Major League Soccer. Sacramento's first game will be on the road against Oakland.
