More than 26 years after she disappeared from a California university, the Kristin Smart murder trial begins today. Paul Flores is the man accused of murdering Smart. His father Ruben Flores is accused of helping hide the body and they'll stand trial in Salinas, California. Paul Flores allegedly killed the 19-year-old college freshman while attempting to rape her in his dorm room at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in May 1996. He and his father were arrested last year after investigators uncovered new information in the case. Flores is accused of hiding Smart's body at his father's property, then digging up the remains and moving them. The remains have yet to be found.
