Gas Station Declines Reimbursement From Fired Manager Over Price Mistake

A former store manager who made a gas price mistake said his old company does not want the fundraiser money. John Szczecina accidentally set the gas to 69-cents a gallon at a station in Rancho Cordova last week. He said he was worried about getting sued, so he set up a Go-Fund-Me page and ended up raising more than $24,000.

The company told Szczecina in a formal letter they are not accepting the money. The Go-Fund-Me page update from yesterday says the funds will now go to Szczecina's living expenses to support his family. Those who donated can request a refund before June 28th.
