Several Businesses Across From Capitol Broken Into Overnight

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a string of break ins around the state capitol building that happened late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. The downtown businesses affected are between J and L and 10th and 12th streets. KCRA spoke to a police spokesperson who says the break-ins happened between 10:55 p.m. Tuesday and 3:45 a.m. Wednesday. As of Wednesday, there has been no suspects identified and the authorities are still gathering surveillance footage to use in their investigation.

SPD said it will be increasing patrols in the area and is encouraging anyone who witnessed the burglaries to call the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-4357. Callers are able to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
