California Mask Mandate To Be Lifted

California's mask mandate may be relaxed by June 15th, according to Governor Gavin Newsom.

In a television interview with Fox 11 in Los Angeles, Newsom indicated masks would no longer be required by that date, except for large indoor settings with a high concentration of people. According to Newsom, the primary exception would be for large indoor gatherings such as conventions.

The wearing of masks indoors in public spaces has been mandatory in California since June of last year. The CDC changed their mask requirements earlier last month, saying people do not need to wear masks if they are alone outdoors or only with members of their household, regardless of their vaccination status.
