Sacramento Officers Hurt, Hundreds Protest Death of George Floyd

Hundreds of protesters filled the streets in Sacramento Friday night over the death of George Floyd.

The march started around 6pm at Oak Park Market on 12th Avenue, and lasted into Saturday morning.

Sacramento police said nine officers received minor injures from bricks and rocks being thrown at them. Also, four police vehicles suffered minor damage.

There was at least one person arrested for suspicion of throwing items at officers.

There have also been reports of protesters that were hurt as well.

Protesters made many stops along their route, including blocking the entrance of the police station at Franklin and 27th, and also briefly blocking Highway 99, south of 12th Avenue.
