Tons Of Garbage Removed During American River Pkwy Homeless Camp Clean-Up

Rancho Cordova residents living near the American River Parkway are hoping it stays clean after county crews went in to clean up over seven tons on trash left by homeless people camping there. Police also say they arrested two people during the clean-up effort. Those people are facing charges of narcotics possession and felony probation violations.

The city's homeless outreach team met with people living along the parkway to connect them to housing resources as a part of the process.

Residents in the area and regular users of the American River Parkway has long protested the presence of homeless campers and complained about the trash left behind.
