Cloning a pet is technically possible, but the cost might put you off. A Texas firm called ViaGen Pets started cloning pets four years ago, but is now pricing the process of cloning your dog at $50,000. Cloning a cat will set you back $35,000.

Despite the cost some people want the service. In fact, Seattle resident Amy Vangemert reportedly couldn't stand the idea of her aging toy poodle Buhner dying, so she paid to have him cloned. Buhner, who's now 14 has clones named 'Buhner Junior," "Baxter," and "Ditto."
