Saugus High Students To Return To School Briefly After Deadly Shooting

US-CRIME-SCHOOL-SHOOTING

Students will be allowed to go back to Saugus High on Tuesday to collect their personal things after one of their own opened fire on campus and left two classmates dead and three others wounded. The 16-year-old gunman died from a self-inflicted shot.

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, the school will offer activities on campus for kids who have been psychologically affected by those murders, but there won't be any regular classes scheduled until after the Thanksgiving break.

Principal Vince Perry urged those attending a Sunday night vigil for the victims to be open and honest about their pain.

"Strength is not the withholding of tears or the waiving off of pain," he said. "Strength is the ability to welcome our tears in the midst of pain."

The faculty and staff of Saugus High returned on Monday.
