Living History In Rocklin This Weekend

People in the Sacramento region will get a chance to meet and interact with some of American history's biggest names. Hundreds of school kids will be taking field trips today (9/13/19) where they will meet the likes of Abe Lincoln, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, who tells KFBK he's not exactly happy with his picture on the 100 dollar bill.

"You know, at 80 you only look so good," said Dr. Franklin. "I thought I looked much better in my 50s or 60s. I would have appreciated something from that period versus the old man on that bill," he added with a chuckle.

The schoolchildren will get to interact with these historical rock stars as they learn about what it took to forge our nation. The main events are this Saturday and Sunday at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin.

One of the many events planned is a 5k/10k race and fun run planned for Saturday morning. That event helps fund the entire endeavor. More details can be found here.
