PG&E Permanently Shuts Off Electrical Lines Linked To Camp Fire

Pacific Gas & Electric Company officials say crews have permanently shut off power to the electrical lines believed to have sparked the deadly Camp Fire.

In a court filing, PG&E said that power flowing on all of the towers in what is known as the Caribou-Palermo line was shut off no later than July 31st. Reportedly there is no plan to restore power to that section of high-voltage power lines. It runs through about 36 miles of Butte County.

Last November's Camp Fire killed over 80 people, burned more than 153,000 acres in Butte County, and destroyed the town of Paradise.
