A suspect reportedly lead officials on a short chase Wednesday afternoon (July 17, 2019) after carjacking two vehicles, one of which was an ice cream truck, according to Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
An armed carjacking was reported near Sunrise Blvd. and Fitzgerald Rd. around 1:30 p.m. Shortly after, a rollover crash was reported involving the ice cream truck. One person was sent to the hospital but it unclear if individual was hurt in the ice cream truck or another vehicle involved.
The suspect continued the pursuit by reportedly carjacking a vehicle that was passing by. After crashing the second vehicle, the subject fled into a field near Sunrise and Zinfandel. A SWAT team was then able to apprehend the suspect, according to reports.
