State Lawmakers Propose Natalie Corona Memorial Highway In Nor Cal

Legislators at the state Capitol are working on a resolution to rename of portion of Interstate-5 after a fallen Davis police officer.

Assembly Resolution 66 would create the Natalie Corona Memorial Highway in Colusa County near her hometown of Arbuckle. The renaming would extend between Greenbay Road and Salt Creek Drive.

The 22-year-old rookie officer was shot and killed in an ambush at the scene of a downtown Davis traffic accident. The alleged suspect was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound a short time later in a home near the shooting scene.

Corona was raised in Arbuckle and graduated from Pierce High School in 2014. She also attended Yuba College, where she graduated with an associate’s degree, and she graduated from the Sacramento Training Academy just prior to being sworn in as a Davis Police Officer in August of last year.
