Congresswoman Maxine Waters Holds Judgement On Jussie Smollett Incident

L.A. Congresswoman Maxine Waters says we shouldn't jump to conclusions regarding the "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett's claims that he was attacked by President Trump supporters. Outside L.A. City Hall, Waters said she's waiting for the Chicago Police Department to determine if the alleged assault was a hoax, "(Chicago police are) doing their investigation now, let's see what they say."

Pressed by a reporter asking if Waters would be disappointed if the attack turned out to be a hoax by Smollett, she said, "well, let's not come to any conclusions. Let's wait until the investigation is over."

Actor Jussie Smollett says he was recently attacked in Chicago by supporters of President Trump who yelled anti-gay slurs and said that "This is MAGA country." A source says Chicago police have shifted the investigation to see if the alleged assault was orchestrated by the actor.
