Sacto Schools, Teachers Have To Go Back To Arbitration

The Sacramento City Unified School District is being ordered back into arbitration to settle an ongoing budget dispute. A judge ordered the district to sit down with the teachers union, according to a report by the Sacramento Bee.

The two sides continue to battle over teacher salary adjustments, health benefits, and lower class sizes. The original framework of a deal last year promised to use any savings from district health care plan adjustments to pay teachers more money and hire additional staff.

District officials claim to be 30-million-dollars in the red.
