SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is calling one coronavirus test into question.
He tweeted last night that “Something extremely bogus is going on," claiming he was tested for COVID-19 four times on Thursday. Two tests came back negative and two came back positive. "Same machine, same test, same nurse."
He then referenced it was a rapid antigen test from BD, which may refer to Becton Dickinson and company. Musk told a Twitter user that he has the symptoms of a "typical cold."
The Tesla CEO said he was also undergoing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests from separate labs, whose results will take about 24 hours.
Becton Dickinson reported over the summer that it was investigating reports from nursing homes that its rapid testing equipment was producing false-positive results.
The New Jersey-based company has a customer service office in Martin County.
