Can The U.S. Co-Exist With China? Gordon Chang talks to A&G

Twin topics are dominating any discussion regarding The People's Republic of China.

First, China has issued a stern warning to protesters in Hong Kong, stating that punishment is coming for those behind the recent protests.

And on the trade-front, China won't buy American farm products. A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce says that nation's companies have stopped buying the products because of President Trump's plan to impose new 10 percent tariffs on 300-billion dollars worth of Chinese goods on September 1st.

The U.S. Treasury Department labeled China a currency manipulator after Beijing reduced the value of its currency, the yuan, in an escalation of the trade war with the U.S.

What is the likely future of Hong Kong? What will happen if the U.S/China trade war continues to escalate?

Gordon Chang joined Armstrong & Getty to offer his expert perspective on both circumstances.
