Trevor Noah's Oscars Two-Fer

Trevor Noah in many ways fits the mold of the Oscar host. Smart and clever with a command of current events--the Daily Show host's humor was relegated to a singular appearance on the host-less 2019 edition of the awards show.

Noah made the most of it--ripping Mel Gibson and pulling-one-over on all but those who speak the South African language-- Xhosa.

While introducing best picture nominee Black Panther, he jokingly talked about growing up in "Wakanda", where he said he often watched T'Challa "fly over his village", using the phrase "'abelungu abazi uba ndiyaxoka'.

Noah said the phrase means, 'In times like these, we are stronger when we fight together than when we try to fight apart." Applause followed. Uh huh.
