Friends are worth their weight in gold.
Minnesota's Ty Koehn and Jack Kocon are both childhood buddies and baseball players.
Last week, their high school teams (and top seeds), Mounds View & Totino Grace, competed against one another for the section championship game.
Totino Grace was down 4-zip with 2-out in the ninth when hitter Kocon faced his friend, pitcher Koehn.
Ultimately, the Mounds View hurler prevailed, securing a three-hit shutout and the victory following a strikeout of his best bro.
Kocon had just watched strike three sail past him, bringing a sudden end to their season. But for Koehn, their friendship was more important than the victory.
While the Mounds View players rushed the field in celebration, the winning pitcher beelined towards home, directly to his friend, to console him about the loss.
He told Joe Nelson of BMTN, "I knew I had to say something. Our friendship is more important than just the silly outcome of a game. I had to make sure he knew that before we celebrated."
