North Korea Summit Cancelled. Doomed from the start?

President Trump has called off the summit with North Korea's Kim Jong Un.

The President saying North Korea's leader should not "hesitate to call me or write" if he changes his mind about their now-canceled summit.

The announcement followed a volley of strong comments from both sides.

A North Korean Foreign Ministry official took aim at comments by U.S. Vice President Mike Pence suggesting the country may end up like Libya if it doesn't move forward with denuclearization. The official slammed the remarks as "ignorant" and "stupid."

In that statement, the North Korean government referred to Vice President Mike Pence as a "political dummy" and said it is just as ready to meet in a nuclear confrontation as at the negotiating table.

During his Fox & Friends interview this morning, President Trump said that North Korea may be allowed to give up its nuclear weapons in phases in exchange for sanctions relief.
