"Cannabis Nerd" Jackie Sponsellor visited with Jack & Joe to talk about her passion project, called “Weed the Homeless”.
For a number of years, Sponsellor has worked to create a number of pot-related businesses. She says it was during a lonely Thanksgiving break in Venice CA that she stumbled upon the idea of giving away her extra weed to a homeless woman who asked her for a puff.
That experience, and her belief in the medicinal power of pot (she suffers from epilepsy and uses pot to keep the symptoms at bay), lead her to organize four "Weed the Homeless" events--most recently in San Diego.
The premise is rather simple. Sponsellor and friends simply walk-through an area with a concentration of homeless people and hand out cannabis to whomever wants it.
