Fresno State Prof Criticized for Barbara Bush Comments

The president of a California college is expressing deep concern over a professor's comments about the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Fresno State President Joseph Castro says Professor Randa Jarrar's personal view runs contrary to the university's core values.

Jarrar posted on Twitter that Mrs. Bush was an amazing racist who raised a war criminal.  She then added "I'm happy the witch is dead.

Can't wait for the rest of her family to fall to their demise the way 1.5 million Iraqis have."

When someone warned that she could lose her job over the tweets, Jarrar answered, "I work as a tenured professor. I make 100K a year doing that. I will never be fired."

Fresno State officials issued statements distancing themselves from Jarrar and condemning her remarks, and said, "the incident is under review."
