Director, filmmaker and comic book nerd Kevin Smith is recovering in the hospital after a massive heart attack Sunday night.
Smith, the man behind "Clerks," "Dogma" and "Comic Book Men" had the heart attack after performing a show in Glendale, California.
The 47-year-old tweeted from the hospital that if he hadn't canceled his second show last night and gone to see a doctor, he'd be dead.
"But for now," Smith wrote, "I'm still above ground!"
Smith tweeted that the doctor who saved his life told him his LAD artery, the so-called "Widow Maker," was 100-percent blocked.
Smith wrote and directed the movies "Chasing Amy" and Mallrats."
