STATE OF CA WANTS TO BE YOUR POT BANKER

California legislators are considering a tax-payer backed bank for marijuana profits.

Legal pot sales started the first day of January, but the state is lacking a designated place to put the billions of dollars that are coming in.

The State Treasurer says officials will be looking at plans to explore a public bank that doesn't fall under control of the federal government.

Commercial banks, which are regulated by the federal government, won't handle pot proceeds of any kind.
