Delta Air Lines is asking passengers to skip their in-flight meals. According to the air travel blog View from the Wing, passengers flying on long-haul flights in business class were presented with the option to forgo the in-flight meal when pre-selecting their food before the aircraft boards.
The blog shared a screenshot of the food offerings, which include sous vide chicken breasts, impossible meatballs, a trout filet, and a spinach, potato, and chickpea chana masala.
If you don't feel like eating, there is also an option to skip the first meal service.
"Not planning on dining with us? Opting out of your first service meal helps reduce food waste," the airline said.
The blog noted that the cheapest long-haul business-class flights cost around $8,000.
The decision to ask passengers to skip their in-flight meals comes not long after the airline revamped its food menu. Passengers can now enjoy Topo Chico's hard seltzers and Thrive Farmers tea on all flights. Delta also added chocolate chunk sea salt cookies made by Bell's Cookie Co. and a build-your-own ice cream sundae with vanilla ice cream from Atlanta-based High Road Craft.
