CalOSHA Reverses Newest Mask Guidance, Masks To Stay In Place Until October

Confusing updated mask guidelines for the workplace that were recently adopted by Cal/OSHA, have now been reversed in California. The group decided after the confusion and backlash to the updated rules that they will remove them and stick with the guidelines originally set in place back in October of 2020. Right now, masks will still be required until October 2nd of this year unless revised again in the future. The oversight agency voted unanimously to withdraw pending guidelines that were approved last week, after an hours long meeting with pubic comment. A special meeting was held last night after the state's public health department confirmed the mask mandate will be lifted on June 15th and that masks inside businesses will be up to each store. On June 17th, officials will meet again, and they will discuss updated safety guidelines from the California Department of Public Health.
