Sacramento residents will now be able to have a COVID-19 test delivered straight to their door.
DoorDash is offering same-day delivery tests to residents in Sacramento and other American cities, reports KCRA3.
The delivery service has partnered with the digital health companies Vault Health and EverlyWell to give people another way to access COVID-19 tests.
According to KCRA3, EverlyWell's tests use self-administered nasal swabs and Vault Health's tests use "supervised saliva collection as part of an audio-visual visit."
Both kits are polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests which is a molecular test and considered to be the most accurate variety of tests on the market. They have received emergency authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for at-home COVID-19 testing.
The EverlyWell testing costs $109 and the Vault Health costs $119. Both test kits promise to return COVID-19 results within 24 to 48 hours, according to The Verge.
In addition to Sacramento, the testing kits will be available with DashMart locations in Chicago, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City.
Vault Health also made its testing kits available for same-day delivery in 20 markets on its website.
