Sutter Health Settlement In Antitrust Lawsuit

A settlement has been reached in Sutter Health's antitrust lawsuit.

A San Francisco judge gave preliminary approval yesterday to a $575 million settlement, requiring the Northern California health provider to make significant changes. Sutter Health will need to change relationships with insurance companies and employers, as well as rewrite incentives for doctors and eliminate service bundles. Attorney General Xavier Becerra noted a Cesarean section in Sacramento costs $27,000, almost double the price of the same procedure in other California markets.
