Elementary Students In L.A.'s Smaller Districts Return To Campus Today

\While Los Angeles Unified is sticking with distance learning until teachers are vaccinated, students in smaller local school districts are going back to campus.

First and second grade students in the Saugus Union School District will be back in the classroom for the first time in nearly a year today, and this parent says it's about time. Kids in Saugus will start out on a hybrid schedule. In-person classes will be held four days a week, and three hour school days will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions.

Preschool and kindergarten students will return later this week, and all other students will be back by March 4th. L.A. County met the coronavirus case threshold required by the state to reopen elementary schools one week ago.
