UC Davis Tests Childhood COVID-19 Vaccine On Monkeys

The California National Primate Research Center at UC Davis is working to develop a childhood vaccine against COVID-19.

The center is testing some of the vaccines in infant rhesus macaques for their trial. Researchers say the monkeys have similar immune systems to humans and they've already given them two doses of the potential vaccine. The species of monkey played an important role in studying viruses like HIV and Zika. The team has been in talks with regulatory agencies in preparation for human trials.
