361,000 NorCal PG&E customers are without power

About 361,000 PG&E customers are without power in Northern California this morning, as the utility company tried to prevent fires with high winds.

More than a million people were predicted to be in the dark on Sunday night.

Officials extended a red flag warning through 5 p.m. Tuesday for East and North Bay mountain areas.

This is the fifth time this year that PG&E has cut power in hopes of reducing the risk of that downed power lines and other equipment could start a fire in windy and dry conditions.

Fire crews quickly contained small fires that started Sunday in Sonoma and Shasta counties. The causes are under investigation.
