Sac Co Sheriff's Office Telling Partiers To Stay Home During COVID Pandemic

Crime Scene Generic

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is telling party goers to stay home amid the coronavirus pandemic. The plea comes after a second house party shooting in the last two weeks. Investigators are still looking for the person responsible for that latest shooting which took place at an Airbnb in Arden-Arcade last Sunday morning.

Deputies have had to answer more calls during the pandemic due an increase in the number of large parties and gatherings at houses, mostly because people have nowhere else to go, they say. But authorities are trying to convince the people doing the partying that they're safer to staying home.

Health officials also have said multiple times during the COVID-19 pandemic that big crowds at house parties violates physical distancing guidelines and can result in the fast spread of the virus.
