Gov Newsom June 29 COVID-19 Briefing: Why Bars Were Ordered To Close

California Governor Gavin Newsom is going to be "dimming" re-opening measures in parts of the state that are seeing an increase in coronavirus cases.

Over the weekend, the Governor ordered that bars in seven counties close again amid a surge in coronavirus cases throughout California. During his Monday COVID -19 news briefing, Newsom said these counties have been on a "watch list" for 14 days because of a continuous increase in transmission.

Bars in Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, San Joaquin, and Tulare counties to close. The Governor also recommended bars shut down in Sacramento, Contra Costa, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and Ventura counties.
