Trump Considers Churches Essential And Calls For Them To Reopen

The President has deemed churches and other houses of worship “essential” and has asked governors across to allow them to reopen this weekend.

In a press conference on Friday Donald Trump said, “Today I’m identifying houses of worship — churches, synagogues and mosques — as essential places that provide essential services,”

He also went on to say that if Governors do not participate in the reopening of houses of worship that he will "override" them although it's unclear how he could legally do so.

The CDC had prepared a draft of guidelines for churches and other houses of worship to follow in order to reopen weeks ago that included measures like maintaining distance between parishioners and limiting the size of gatherings but it had been delayed by Trump's administration until he changed his mind basically.
